“The Needs of Our Neighbors” is an ongoing collection project providing a ministry option for every General Assembly attendee. Located in the registration area, four large collection receptacles will be available for connecting with the following ministries-

  • SEARCH Ministry - a local non-profit organization that provides resources to more than 2, 000 homeless men, women, and children. SEARCH provides job training, transitional housing, day care services, and mobile health screening. Attendees are encouraged to donate hygiene products (shampoo, soap, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc) and diapers (sizes 1-5).
  • Books for the Border - CBF Texas partners to provide many tangible resources all along the Border. Many of these families must choose between paying for meals vs. paying for medicine. Attendees are encouraged to donate new/gently used books and literature appropriate for preschool age children.
  • PORTA - Albania House in Athens, Greece- CBF Field Personnel continue to minister among the Albanian people located in Athens. In addition to ongoing marriage enrichment, discipleship training, and personal financial training, PORTA offers holistic resources for the entire family. Infant/children’s clothing is always needed. Attendees are encouraged to donate new pajamas and flip-flops. (Sizes 24 months to 10 years)
  • Sichuan, China Children’s ministry - CBF Field Personnel continue to be the presence of Christ in this corner of the world. In addition to assisting locals to rebuild their physical lives after the recent earthquake, these workers minister to the spiritual need of local children with limited resources. Simple items like VBS materials, SS supplies, picture packs, markers and even musical instruments are in short supply. Attendees are encouraged to donate VBS/Sunday School material, games, puzzles, coloring books, craft idea books, markers, books, and simple musical instruments(shakers, tambourines).
