Brian D. McLaren is an author, speaker, pastor, and networker among innovative Christian leaders, thinkers, and activists. He served as the founding pastor of Cedar Ridge Community Church, an innovative, nondenominational church in the Baltimore-Washington region, from 1986 until 2006. He is on the international steering team and board of directors for emergent, a growing generative friendship among missional Christian leaders. Brian is married to Grace, and they have four young adult children. He has traveled extensively in Europe, Latin America, and Africa, and his personal interests include ecology, fishing, hiking, music, art, and literature.

Joy Yee is the pastor of Nineteenth Avenue Baptist Church in San Francisco, CA. A graduate of Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, Joy received her M.Div. in 1992 and was ordained in 2000. In addition to pastoring, Joy has served as Moderator for Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and has been a guest preacher for various events around the country. She finds deep contentment in serving others as a spiritual director who helps people articulate their experiences with God and respond to Him.
