Through its partnership with the Center for Congregational Health, CBF Congregational Life offers many services for guaging your congregations vitality and developing congregational leaders.

Services to Congregations

The objective is to provide CBF related congregations with services to assess their health in times of need and to receive recommendations for next steps to improve the situation

Services will include telephone consultations with CBF congregations through pastors, staff ministers or lay leaders.  Referrals could come from CBF staff, related state organizations, and direct calls from CBF churches.

Services provided would include telephone consultation with congregational leaders and/or one-day site visits with the congregation.   The beneficiary congregation would pay the travel.  Congregations and leaders receiving these services would be informed that the consulting services are provided through their gifts to the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.  Up to 75 hours of consultation and/or 10 site visits will be provided.  Issues on which congregations might seek counsel could include: strategic planning, interim ministry, conflict management, staff relationships, leadership development and others.  Any additional hours or site visits would be negotiated between CBF staff, Center staff and the local church.

Coordination of Intentional Interim Ministry Resources

The objective is to provide CBF related congregations Intentional Interim Ministry resources.  Services include the following:

·      Establish a CBF network of trained intentional interim pastors – (organizing current and future pastors within YCORE with CBF as a denominational member)

·      Offer one “free standing” continuing education event for interim pastors

·      Offer one Interim Ministry for Today’s Church course

·      Offer one Intentional Interim Ministry Training course

·      Offer a workshop on Interim Ministry at General Assembly

The network of interim pastors related to this partnership will work in a complimentary relationship with the CBF Interim Pastor Network.  The Network’s purpose is to assist congregations in finding a CBF related interim pastor.  The purpose of the YCORE network is to improve the skills of the affiliated interim pastors.  The educational events for interim pastors will be coordinated between the Interim Pastor Network and the Center.
