Long-term relief work begins

As you are already well aware, the needs in Haiti will not be met in the next few weeks or months. At the moment, the most immediate medical and physical needs are being addressed. As these needs are met, other more foundational needs will take precedence, such as a consistent food supply, clean water and stable long-term shelter. These basic human needs are not being met now. So, where do we begin?

CBF is adopting a both/and approach as we respond to Haiti. We will be both engaging in short-term relief efforts (medical teams, specialized recovery groups, etc.) and developing long-term incremental relief and rebuilding efforts (home construction/medical clinic/orphanage work, water development). Each level of our response will be based on our ongoing desire to be transformational, holistic and sustainable. In the coming weeks, we will layout all of the details of this multi-year strategy.

So far, Fellowship Baptists have contributed more than $160,000. Thank you for this outpouring of support for the people of Haiti.

New! Update your church about CBF's response in Haiti with an all-new color bulletin insert that you can download and print. Plus, download the Rob Nash video above to show in your church on Sunday.
