Missional Church

“The next decades will bring killing stress to the church ... unless the Christian congregations of North America change.“
~Tom Bandy, Moving Off the Map

CBF Missional Church logoThe situation of the Church in North America has shifted radically in the last 50 years.  This shift has given birth to the Missional Church movement.  Simply, the Missional Church movement leads congregations to ask, “What is God wanting us to be, become and do to continue the ministry of Christ within our present community and global context?“  This is a departure from the old way of doing things, which focused on denominational templates and traditional programming.  The unique nature of the answer for every local church is bringing forth new birth for older congregations across America and providing direction for new church starts.

CBF and Congregational Life are committed to the perspective and posture of the Missional Church as a response to the current situation of the Church in North America. To talk with someone about how you and your church can become missional, contact Bo Prosser, the Coordinator of Congregational Life at bprosser@thefellowship.info.  To talk with someone about Missional Church resources, contact Rick Bennett, Director of Congregational Life at rbennett@thefellowship.info.

“Ours is a gospel of hope.  It causes us to look forward, to anticipate and to expect the fulfillment of what only God can do...of what God will do in and through us.“
